Jim Burns
Age 56, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Grandview Medical Center after an extended illness.
Jim was a 1972 graduate of Fairborn Park Hills High School. Known for his wit and sense of humor, Jim leaves everyone who knew him with fond memories and many laughs. He was loved by many but held a particularly special place in the hearts of his grandchildren. He was passionate about his family and close friends and was always there to lend a helping hand.
Jim is preceded in death by his father, Robert, in 1997 and a sister, Brenda.
He leaves behind his mother Katie (Edna) Burns; sister, Tara Gardner; and brother Robert (Bob). Also surviving are his daughters Mandy Sperry and Stacy Burns, three grandchildren, Dylan, Keegan and Madison. Nieces, Kelly Brown, Lisa Partin, Erin Gardner and Ashley Gardner; special friends, Vicki Perkins and Patti Carter. Jim also held a very special place in his heart for Carly Perkins-Eagle and Mike Perkins.
He will be remembered for his love of great music, caring nature, crazy antics, pranks, and fun nature. The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone for their support during our difficult time.
A memorial service in celebration of Jim's life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 2, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton. The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 p.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Jim to the Dayton Regional North Dialysis Center.
