James Herbert Sparks, age 66, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Grandview Hospital. He was born August 29, 1954 in Wolfe County, Kentucky the son of Herbert Sparks and Dorothy (Spencer) Russell.
He is preceded in death by his father, Herbert Sparks and step-father, James Russell.
James is survived by his mother, Dorothy Russell; siblings, Richard (Rita) Sparks, Diana (Stephen) Harmeling, Barbara Turner and Donna (Tony) Russell; half-sister, Estelle Russell; brother-in-law, Dean Kennedy; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Jimmy graduated from Middletown High School in 1972. He previously worked for Dayton International Airport and Rumpke for many years. Jimmy and his mother loved to travel across the country. He was an avid movie fan who loved Elvis and Dolly Parton.
Visitation from 12:00pm until 1:00pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where his funeral service will take place at 1:00pm. Burial to follow at Woodside Cemetery in Middletown, Ohio.
