James Douglas Smith, age 84, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. He was born on September 14, 1939 in Cookeville, TN to the late Lola and Finley Smith.
James was a Union Iron Worker. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Temple and loved the Lord.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce Smith; his children, Randall J. (Tosha) Smith and Jerry L. Smith; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and his sister, Willouise Rice. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 13, 2023 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm with services immediately following, all at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, OH 45424.
A graveside service will be held 10:30 am on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Arlington Cemetery - Brookeville.
