James L. "Jim" Sheldon

James L. "Jim" Sheldon, age 85, of Dayton, passed away April 21, 2025. Jim was born in Dayton, Ohio on July 30, 1939 to the late David and Amy Sheldon.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 60 years, Judy Sheldon.

He is survived by son, John (Shannon) Sheldon; daughter, Janine (Greg) Howard; grandchildren, Tabitha (Tom) Gill, Mitchell Thomas, Bethany (Trent) Valentine and Cory Sheldon; and his great-grandchildren, Connor, Lilah and Amelia Gill.

Jim was owner of Sheldon Chrysler Plymouth Dodge in New Carlisle and was Deputy Registrar for Clark County. He sold cars for many years. Jim was former President of the New Carlisle Optimist Club and Lions Club. He was also a US Air Force veteran.

Jim loved his family, he kept them in his prayers.

He and his wife were active members of West Charleston Church of the Brethren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to the West Charleston Church of the Brethren (4817 South State Route 202 Tipp City).

Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-3:00pm on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek), where funeral services will begin at 3:00pm.
