James S. Smith

SMITH, James S., age 73, of Beavercreek, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Hospice of Dayton. Jim was born November 16, 1934, in Dayton, Ohio. He retired from Delco Moraine after 29 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Catherine Smith and 9 brothers and sisters. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Phyllis; son, James, daughters Pamela, Patricia and her husband Mike; step-sons Roger and his wife Barbara, and Mike; grandchildren Megan and Katie; step-grandchildren Angela, Marc, and Beth; step-great-grandchildren Hailey and Austin. Jim is also survived by two sisters, Emma and her husband Barney, Donna and her husband Keith; numerous nieces and nephews; Mildred Wemmer and family in Florida, and special friends Clyde and Tiny of Tipp City, and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Monday, November 26, 10:00 a.m. with a funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek, Ohio and final resting will be Forest Hills Cemetery in Piqua, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
