Walker, James Robert
age 78 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2006 at his home. James served our country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the VFW, Post #9927, DAV, CCC Alumni and the Kettering Rec. Center. James is survived by his wife of 3 years, Rickey Walker; sons, Scott Walker and Charles (George Bryson) Walker; grandsons, Chaz, Jason, and Corey Walker; step-daughters, Janie (Elbert) Stillings and Connie (Michael) Berger; special, beloved nephew, David (Sandy) Martin; step-grandchildren, Mike (Amanda) Berger, Aaron Berger, and Kim (Travis) Abney; great granddaughter, Sophia Abney; sister-in-law, Betty (Tim); numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; and special dog, Pepper. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 54 years, Francis Walker; son, James R. Walker, Jr.; and mother, Julie Cross. Family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
