James R. Mckee

McKEE, James R. 86, of Lake Placid, FL, went to be with his Lord early Thursday morning October 16, 2008 at the Lake Placid Health Care Center. A native of Middletown, OH he was born October 26, 1921 to parents Ova and Esther (Sellers) McKee. He served his country with the rank of Corporal in the US Army during WWII. He moved to Sebring from Dayton after retiring from K-Mart as manager with 25 years of service then moving to Lake Placid 9 years ago. A member of the VFW post 3880 and American Legion Placid Post 25 and was opf the Lutheran Faith. Mr. McKee is proceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Hotopp; sisters, Beulah Long, Mildred Roberts Moon, and Magdalene Emerick; and brothers, William and Thomas McKee. Mr. McKee is survived by his loving angel of 32 years, Lynda; daughters, Mary Frances Fuller (Ron), Constance Allison (Michael); sons, James (Vicky), Michael (Treva), Robert (Patti), Jeffery (Bonnie), Jon (Phyllis); grandchildren, Jennifer, Jim, Kelley, Katey, Meghan, Lisa, Ashley, Adam, Amy, Nicole, Danny, Eric, Morgan, Mike, Matthew, and Alex; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Oveda Finkborn, Katherine Vilvens; and sister-in-law, Margaret McKee. Funeral services celebrating Mr. McKee's life will be 2PM Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. The family will receive friends from 1PM until time of service. Interment and military services will follow the funeral at Woodland Cemetery.
