James A. "Jim" Quillen, age 72 of Miamisburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 25, 1948 in Paris, Illinois to the late Max and Eileen Quillen.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Cathy L. Quillen; two children, James Quillen Jr. and Dawne (Marvin) Kindred; two bonus children, Michele (Phillip) Jones and Edward Butts; ten grandchildren, Kyleigh, Riley, Paige, Perry "Red", Desiree, Autumn, Chance, Rachel, Ryan, and Timothy; five great-grandchildren, Isabella, Niklaus, Jessie, Jaelyn, and Dominic; childhood friend, Steve and a special fur baby, Dusty. He is also survived by many other loving family members and friends.
Jim worked at the Dayton Art Institute and retired from Corken Steel. He was a long time member of the Miami Valley Triumphs Club and founded the Dayton British Car Days classic car show. Jim enjoyed anything and everything about classic cars! He also enjoyed listening to 60's music, building model cars, and watching Ky preform her dance routines. Jim is well loved by his family, friends at Z Company Arts, and his friends at DaVita Springboro and Moraine locations. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A public viewing will be held from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home-Kettering Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to an animal rescue of your choice.
