PRESLEY, James Harley age 70, passed away March 28, 2013. Jim was born on January 13, 1943 and raised in Fairborn, OH.
He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Lillian (Butler) Presley, sister Helen Campbell, and brothers-in-law Dave Campbell and Robert Fishback.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Lois (Rose) Presley, son Curtis Presley, daughter Tamara Presley (Chris) Ball, 3 grandchildren: Emma, Elias and Fiona Ball, step-daughter Teresa Hughes (& her children: Eric and Matthew), sister Virginia Fishback, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends and extended family.
Jim was a graduate from Fairborn High School and received an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Sinclair Community College. He continued Life Long Learning Classes at Sinclair. He was employed at General Motors/Inland from 1963-1994 (retired). He proudly served in the US Navy, 1961-1964, and was stationed on the WASP. Jim enjoyed genealogy family research, he was an author, he enjoyed camping, bird watching, special times with family and reading stories and playing with his grandchildren. He was a Mr. Fix it and a "jack of all trades." Jim was a loving husband father, grandfather, and friend. He was a generous and kind man and will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 1:00 PM, friends may call for visitation from 12 Noon – 1 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH 45432. Burial at the Dayton National Cemetery to follow.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The National Leukemia CML Society, and the Salvation Army.
