James "Butch" Mumpower

James Steven Mumpower, "Butch," age 75 of Gallipolis, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018. He was born September 16, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Fred and Eva Mumpower.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Vincent and Fred Mumpower, Jr., sisters, Beverly Larson, Sharon Smith, Louise Dunnwoodie; special uncle, Dave Mumpower.
Butch is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty; daughters, Janet and Brenda Mumpower; grandchildren, Stacey (Charles) Cox, James (Rebecca) Daniels; great grandchildren, James and Mackenzie Cox, Mason, Aubrey, Abel, Bella, Levi, Owen Daniels; sisters, Shirley (Don) Allen, Elaine (Robert) Saxton; aunt, Marie Mumpower; as well as numerous special in-laws, relatives and friends.
Butch was a tile layer for 50 years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and he will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be January 23, 2018 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). Funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
