James W. Moran, age 95 of Dayton, passed away March 18, 2019. He was born March 29, 1923 in Page, West Virginia to the late Thomas H. and Elsie O. Moran. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Gwen Gaylord Moran; brothers: Leonard, Mib, Silas and Marvin Moran; sister, Eva Lester; and step-daughter, Geraldine Williams.
Jim is survived by his son, Jimmy Moran of Dayton; daughter and son-in-law: Judy and Paul McIntyre of Springfield; grandchildren: Michael Moran, Kimberly McIntyre and Brian McIntyre; step-granddaughter, Debbie Duke; great-grandchildren: Austin, Miya and Ava McIntyre; special friend, O'Dell Howell; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army, WWII. He began his career as a coal miner in West Virginia; worked for Dick Kelchner Excavating and was a custodian for Huber Heights City Schools, where he retired from Rushmore Elementary.
Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road.
