James C. Mocas, Jr., born March 13, 1954, of Waynesville, Ohio, passed into the hands of God on January 2nd, 2024, after a short battle with kidney cancer.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife of forty five years, Deborah Mocas.
He is survived by his children, Amanda Mocas Farris, Phillip (Elizabeth) Mocas, Elizabeth (David) Siler, Gillian (Scott) Nance Knepper, John-Mark (Katherine) Mocas and Svetlana (Michael) Paschall; grandchildren, Brandon, Zoe, Abbey, Logan, Page, Eva, Caleb, Marissa, Isaiah, Stephanie, Isaac, Kyle, Ian, Rachel, Abigail, Miranda, Miles, Annie, Tristan, Aurora, James and Asher; siblings, Mary Mocas (Marv Tseu), Sarah Mocas and Robert (Heidi) Mocas; in-laws, Rebecca (the late William) Hawker and Judi (David) Ramirez; and nephews & nieces, Jessica, Zachary, Rochelle and Colin. He is also remembered by many dear friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, James and Stella Mocas, Sr.; mother-in-law, Irene Pauley; and son-in-law, William Nance.
Jim was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and friend. He worked most recently for Ameresco as a Project Manager. As an Eagle Scout, he loved camping, boating and the great outdoors; as a Jack-of-all-trades, he spent many years learning how to do all things, he was an avid reader and woodworker and spent several decades being a dedicated soccer dad and grandpa. Jim was a graduate of Fairview High School and Wright State University and was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Church.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm-6:00pm, on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where a Celebration of Jim's Life will begin at 6:00pm.
