James "Jim" Irvin Miller, 84, of Xenia, OH, passed away on January 27, 2022 surrounded by loved ones at Fort Hamilton Hospital.
Jim was born on June 23, 1937 to Andrew Jackson and Mahala "Richie" Miller in Dwarf, KY. He served his country during the Cold War, guarding the Berlin Wall. After his service, he lived out his adult life as a construction worker. Jim loved his family and his community. He was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching a good western. He took every opportunity to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and siblings. And he would never be caught without a cup of coffee in his hand. Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be dearly missed.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife: Betty J. Miller; his parents; his brothers: Zebadee Miller and Kurtis Miller; and his sisters: Rusha Camp, Exalee Miniard, Ada Miller, and Ida Miller. He is survived by his children: Richard Shinkle, Debra Tipton, Tina Slone, and Renee Craycraft (Mark Craycraft); his nine grandchildren; his nine great-grandchildren; his brother: Andrew J. Miller; and his sisters: Imogene Combs and Abbie Middleton.
