James E. McSwiney, age 68 of Beavercreek, OH went to join his daughter in Heaven on Monday, April 20, 2020 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born September 28, 1951 in Nashville, Tennessee to Benjamin and Mildred (Moore) McSwiney. He married Jodi Solberg on August 30,1980 in Dayton, OH.
Jim graduated in 1969 from Holmes High School in Covington Kentucky. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army First Calvary Division during the Vietnam Era. Jim worked as a Title Examiner from 1973 to 1994, opening his own title company, A&M Exams, retiring in 2018. After retiring he volunteered at Soin Medical Center where he made many friends. Jim enjoyed golfing, camping, boating and was a devoted Cincinnati Bengals fan. Jim enjoyed spending time at their pool with family and friends, and adored the newest addition to the family, his grandson Bo. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jodi; a daughter, Erin (Cody) Shields; his grandson, Bo; a sister, Pamela (Steve) Miefert; two brothers, Larry (Susan) and Gary (Yong Oke) McSwiney; and numerous, nieces, nephews, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kari L. McSwiney; two brothers Ben and Jeff McSwiney.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Jim's name to Donation Processing, The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014 or to the Disabled American Veteran's @ DAV.org.
A Celebration of Jim's life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek,OH 45324. A Memorial Service will follow the celebration at 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
