McElroy, James R. 73, of Miamisburg, Ohio, Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War, passed away May 7, 2018.
He was born December 21, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Dorothy (Kepple) McElroy.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda (Elkins) McElroy; children, Bradley (Shannan), Cynthia (Christopher); grandchildren, Tiffany (Chris), Alyson (Nick), Jacob, Isabella and Anneliesa; great grandson, Gunner; brother, Don (Charlene); sister, Loretta Cope and many other relatives and friends.
He retired from GM/Harrison Radiator after 31 years and in his retirement he loved working for Voss BMW for almost 20 years. Jim was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a kind, gentle, humble man who loved being with his family. In his free time, Jim loved going shooting with his grandson Jacob, he loved his guns and reading.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 1:00pm until time of service at 3:00pm at Newcomer South Chapel 3940 Kettering Blvd. He will be laid to rest with full Marine Corps Honors, 9:30am Monday, May 14, 2018 at Dayton National Cemetery. The procession will leave from Newcomer South Chapel at 9:00am.
