BENNETT, James "Lloyd", age 56, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2011. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Rev. Anna D. Bennett.
He is survived by his grandmother, Crystal Shoemaker (Hurst); siblings, Eddie (Diane) Bennett and Kathryn (Alan) Huelsman; children, Jennifer Bennett, Stacey (Stephen) Cassanio, Megan Johnson, Chasity (Nick) Hamilton, Britnay Bennett, and Stanley Bennett; grandchildren, Johnaustin Hamilton, Brooklynn Cassanio, William Johnson, Collin Bennett, and Cheyenne Hamilton; fiancée, Vena Lackey, and her children, Taylor Grant and Jay Cook, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Lloyd was born in Winchester, KY and was raised in Dayton, OH graduating from Belmont High School Class of 1973. He retired from Delphi Automotive in 2001 and was an active member of ANI-TAS'LAGI Cherokee Nation, where he received his name of "Raven Feather." Lloyd was a free Mason with the West Carrollton Lodge. He was also a member of the Wolf Creek Rod & Gun Club, where he taught the Hunter's Education for the State of Ohio. He loved working with children and he ran their youth group program (Wolf Gang). He was also known as karaoke DJ, "Luscious Lloyd." Lloyd will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. He lived life to the fullest! He was a devoted and loving father and grandfather.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday, July 25, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fifth-Third Bank in memory of James Lloyd Bennett.
