Pelfrey, James Lester, age 90, of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Vitas Hospice in Dayton. Jim was a United States Navy Veteran proudly serving during WWII and he retired from General Motors with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Dryden Road Pentecostal Church in Moraine, and F.&A.M. St. Johns Lodge #13. Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years: Edna (Ball) Pelfrey; daughters and sons-in-law: Brenda (Mike) Maddux of Dayton, Beverly (Elmer) Oltmann of Lebanon; grandchildren: Jayne (Matt) Burton, Jill (Joe) Mattingly, Meagan (Jamison) Burrick, Don (Angela) Hurst, Heather (Jerry) Borders, Hollie (Dan) Grilliot; great grandchildren: Katherine Burton, Sarah Rose Burton, Nicholas Burrick, Isabel Burrick, Alexandra Burrick, T.J. Mattingly, Caden Hurst, Lauren Grilliot, Hailey Borders; sisters: Irene Maddox, Mary Ann Davis, Patty Mingus; brother: John McPherson; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Nick Pelfrey & Minnie (Dunn) McPherson; brother: William Pelfrey; and sister: Sarah King. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 24, 2009 at Dryden Road Pentecostal Church, 3201 Dryden Road, Moraine with Brother Bennie Sutherland officiating. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M.
