James L. King Jr., "Jim," age 84 of Vandalia, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018. He was born January 1, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late James and Lucille King.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by 6 sisters and 1 brother.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jean; children, Kathy (Greg) Dobis, John (Linda) Embry, Jeanie (Randy) Penrod, David King, James L. (Jenny) King III; grandchildren, Joey and Danny Allen, Kyle Dobis, Cody and Sinda King, Riley and Carson King, Jasmine Penrod; sister, Peggy (Dan) Moyer; special niece, Patricia Rose; sister-in-law, Vallie (Lee) Gallop; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Jim is a 1953 graduate of Fairmont High School. He also served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 1:00 pm, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Poplar Hill Cemetery with military honors.
