James Arthur King (Jim) passed away at the age of 73 on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Village of the Green Nursing Facility after a long illness.
Jim was born on November 6, 1944 in Lafayette, Indiana to Thomas and Rosemary (Boes) King.
He graduated from Belmont High School, Dayton ,Ohio in 1962 and persevered for many years to obtain his undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati. Jim worked as an accountant for many companies before obtaining his career job, that of Vice President/Chief Financial Officer of John R. Jurgensen Companies, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Jim enjoyed sports of all types, traveling, and especially spending time with his family and his beloved grandchildren. With their lifelong special friends Linda and Gary Balonier, the family traveled to many gorgeous locations and enjoyed wonderful vacations along with weekly get-togethers. Jim exemplified the meaning of devotion to family.
Jim is survived by his wife Judi, sons Jeffery and wife Tara of Oakwood, Ohio and Michael and wife Aimee of Boca Raton, Florida and His grandchildren, Jessica Bishop and husband Tim, Joshua, Justin, Hutton and Carston and one precious great grandchild Kale . He is also survived by his brother Kenneth (Royce) of Indianapolis, Indiana and sister Janie (Gary) Whitson of Chicago, Illinois. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, wonderful co-workers and other family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved brother William.
The Memorial Service will be held Saturday , February 3, 2018 at the Greenmont- Oak Park Community Church, 1921 Woodman Drive, Kettering, Ohio 45420 at 11am. Visitation with the family will start at 10am, preceding the service.
Memorial Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Memphis, Tennessee. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Village of the Green and Miami Valley South Hospital for their compassionate care of Jim.
