JOHNSON, James M. "Jim," 52 of Huber Heights; passed away Tuesday December 14, 2004. Jim was a graduate of Wayne High School and Wright State University. He started his career in 1974 at Huber Heights City Schools as a teacher at Valley Forge Elementary School. Jim earned his masters degree in school administration from the University of Dayton in 1982. In 1986, he became principal of Monticello Elementary School of Huber Heights until his retirement in June 2004. He was president of the S.O.W.O.A. for the past 16 years. Jim was an avid Civil War enthusiast, and enjoyed bicycling, hiking, and reading. He volunteered his free time as wrestling and football coach. He was a member of the Huber Heights First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances and his father Rev. Henry Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Terri; daughters, Tera, Brittany, and Megan; sisters, Emily (Jim) Ashley and Jenny (Mike) Johnson; brother Arnie (Kathy) Johnson; grandchildren Alex and Hunter, and numerous nephews, family, friends, and countless others touched throughout his years of service in education. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Monday, December 20, 2004 at Huber Heights First Baptist Church, 5310 Packard Dr., Huber Heights, with Pastor Thomas Bowman, officiating. Family will receive visitors from 10:00am - 1:00pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
