James "Jim" K. March, age 72 of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025. He was born August 25, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan son of the late John and Sophia March.
Jim was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a 1974 graduate of Notre Dame with a Bachelors Degree in Aerospace Engineering. He went on to be a 1985 graduate of the Air Force Institute of Technology with a Masters Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.Jim was a United States Air Force Veteran who proudly served his country later retiring after 20 years as a Major. After leaving the military he continued to work and further his education. He enjoyed building his model planes, boating, reading, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Jim will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia "Jane" March.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Coker and Victoria (Alan) Carwile; grandchildren, Michael (Chasity Jones), Haley, Breanna, Gracie, Abigail, Ethan, and Matthew; great granddaughter, Vivian; brother, Edward (Gail) March; nieces, Anne Marie (Gilles), Allison ( Richard), and Christina (David); aunt, Sharon Karas; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A visitation will held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 2-5pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 11am at Our Lady of the Rosary, 40 Notre Dame Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45404. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
