James "Jim"L. Mitchell

James L. "Jim" Mitchell, Sr., age 48 of Vandalia, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014. He was born March 22, 1966 in Dayton to his late mother, Doris J. Mitchell and his father, Joseph E. Mitchell Sr., and he survives. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Emalene W. Shepherd.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beth Mitchell; son, James L. Mitchell, Jr. and 2 grandchildren; daughter, Haleigh A. Mitchell; son, Joshua A. Mitchell; sisters, Kathern L. (Mike) Chism, Wanda J. Mitchell and Patty A. (Paul) Erickson; brother, Joseph E. (Sheila) Mitchell, Jr. and a large extended family.

Jim was a hard working family man. He loved to watch the Rocky movies anytime they were on TV. Jim was an avid coin collector amongst other collectable memorabilia. His life revolved around spending time with his wife, children and family.
