WALKER, James J., age 86, of Dayton, passed away Friday, June 04, 2010. He was born November 17, 1923 in Whitley City, Kentucky. He served with the United States Navy during World War II and retired from General Motors in 1976. James is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Lou Walker; two sons, Edward (Renee) Alan Walker of North Ridgeville, OH, and Donald Wayne Walker of Dayton; four granddaughters, Tara (Marc) Miller of Miamisburg, Kelly Baker, Megan Walker, and Colleen Walker all of North Ridgeville, OH; special great-grandchildren, Hannah Miller and Andrew Baker; one sister, Lois Ann Harney of Columbus, OH; one brother, George Walker Jr., of Springfield, OH; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George C. and Mattie E. (Simpson) Walker; one sister, Gladys Riffle; two brothers, Warren and Ed Walker. Visitation will be held Monday, June 7, 2010 from 5-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3940 S. Kettering Blvd) where funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 1:00 pm.
