Jim Fitzgerald, Sr., 74, of Mexico, MO, son of the late Lawrence P. and Frances Fitzgerald, loving husband of Carole Fitzgerald, passed away on March 23rd, 2015 at the Hospice of Dayton.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Jr. and Frank. Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carole; daughter, Monica; two sons, James Jr. and Frank; and daughters-in-law, Jennifer and Patricia. He is also survived by four grandchildren living in Dayton and York, PA.
Jim was a graduate of Conestoga High School, Berwyn, PA and Hardin Simmons University, Abilene TX in 1964. Jim worked as a chemist and chemical salesman with HVC, Inc. in Cincinnati until his retirement in 2002. He loved playing sports and coaching his kids when they were young in Springdale, OH. He also loved playing and watching golf, the Ohio State Buckeyes, movies, and anything else on television that piqued his interest. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Viewing will be held this Friday, March 27, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH from 1:00-3:00 pm followed by services at 3:00 pm presided by Jim's nephew, Larry Fitzgerald III. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
