James Hood

James Michael Hood "Jim" age 48 of Kettering, passed away June 13, 2015. He was born July 1, 1966 in Dayton to the late Jack and Tanya Hood.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Jayme Hood (Lee Flint); brothers: John (Tammy) Hood, Joe Hood and Jeff Hood; nieces and nephews: Tonya Hood, John Hood, Jr., Brooke Hood, Nicole Hood, Brianna Hood, Taylor Hood and Zachary Hood; great-nephew, Cole Lukacs; great-niece, Isabella Hastings; aunt, Patty (Jim) Kracus and their family; and a host of other relatives and close friends.

Jim graduated from Kettering Fairmont High School, Class of 1985. He earned an Associate's Degree from Sinclair Community College in Graphic Design and an Associate's Degree from Somerset College in Culinary Arts. He was Second Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, and was an avid lover of nature. Jim had a great love of painting. He shared his talents by being a Bob Ross Certified Instructor passing his talents on to many students through the years. Jim was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jim's memory to the Suicide Prevention Center, 1110 Webster Street, Dayton, Ohio 45404.
