HONIOUS, James Clarence, 63, of Kettering passed away Monday March 8, 2010 at his home with his wife by his side. Born in Dayton, Ohio where he was a graduate of Chaminade H.S. James served in the U.S. Marine Corp, 2nd Battalion, 26th Marines for 2 years before returning to marry his one and only love, Barbara Lepley. He was a heating and air specialist for Honious Electric before becoming self-employed in the same line of work. James was also owner of the former Buns Master Bakery. He was an active member of Ascension Parish. Jim and Barb traveled extensively and were blessed with many dear friends along the way. He was a wonderfully devoted husband, father, grandfather (Pop Pop), friend, and neighbor; always there to lend a helping hand. James is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Barbara Honious; children James Honious, Jr., his wife Amy, Michelle Zaharieff, her husband Alex, Jeffrey Honious, his wife Rebecca, Catherine Meade, her husband Alan, and John Honious; grandchildren Robert, Michael, Kimberly, Christopher, Gabriella, Anthony James (A.J.), Aliyah, Marlee, Justin (Herbie), Jack, Nathaniel, and Karleigh; brothers Howard and Donald Honious; Godson Nicholas Honious; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence Frederick and Marie Agnes Honious and brother Harold Honious. A funeral mass will be held 10:30AM Friday March 12, 2010 at Ascension Catholic Church, 2025 Woodman Dr. Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00PM Thursday March 11, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd. Burial will be held 3:00PM Friday at Dayton National Cemetery.
