James a. Hicks Jr., "Hicks the Great", age 27 of Dayton, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017. He was born August 11, 1989 in Dayton, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his father, James A. Hicks, Sr.; and uncle, Linville Jenkins, Jr..
James is survived by his mother, Brenda Jenkins (Ralph Buell); step-father, Jesse (Ginny) Johnson; siblings, Angel Hicks, Samantha, Sarah, Keeley and Gavin Johnson; nephew, Eric Jr.; nieces, Chloe, Elliannah; grandparents, Johnny (Betty) Hicks, Ethel (Dave) Fleming; Sissy Baker; cousins: Brian Jenkins, Charlie, Grady, Joey, Ronnie and Michael; girlfriend, Macie Carter and best friends, Greg Colvin, James Jaynes, James Webb, Jesse Webb and Jeremy Braden; as well as several aunts, uncles, other cousins and friends.
James had a very big heart. He loved making people laugh and playing video games. He will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 11 am, also at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow in Willow View Cemetery.
