James M. Hayden, Sr., age 58 of Dayton, passed away March 10, 2019. He was born January 15, 1961 in Louisville, KY.
James is survived by his wife, Sandra Hayden; children: Shakia C. Hayden, James M. Hayden, Jr., Eric Williams and Herbert Boyd, III; grandchildren: Siniya, Paris, Savon, Dasani, A'lexus, Adonis and Hayden; parents: Shirlene and James Pope; brother, Norman Payne; sisters: Natalie Walker and Tracy Pope; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
James was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps., where he retired after 20 years of service. He served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Upon his arrival in Dayton, OH in 1993, James began working at the Marine Corps Reserve Center, assisting with the training of the Reservists. After retirement he worked in private security and executive protection; and worked at Aileron until his illness began. James was a member of the Masonic Lodge in California.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday.
