HARRIS, James, age 78, passed away Friday, August 1, 2008. He was a native of Tuskegee, AL and resident of Dayton, OH the majority of his life. Retired from Sucher Packing Co. and Premier Rubber Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Ella (Brown) Harris; 4 sisters, Addie Mae Lovejoy, Josephine Richardson, Odessa Matthews, Alice DeBrill, and 3 brothers, Moses, Eugene, and Eddie Harris. Survivors include devoted wife of 25 years, Erma Jean Harris; son, Larry J. Harris and his wife of CA; sister, Lorine (Jimmy) Ezell of FL; 3 brothers, Arthur, Joseph, and Willie Harris of Dayton; 6 grandchildren, including Nathaniel and Kristi Johnson of Dayton; 3 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, J.C. DeBrill, Edward Spears, and Barbara C. Harris, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Arbors of Dayton for the care they've given to the Harris family. Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m. Friday, August 8, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Bishop Mark McGuire officiating. Interment to follow at West Memory Gardens, Dayton. Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2008 at the funeral home.
