James Harold Neidhart, age 83 of Dayton, Ohio went to be with God and Jesus on Saturday, June 18, 2022.
After a 3 year courtship, Jim married his cherished and beloved wife, Bonnie Belle Pearch Neidhart of Monroe, Michigan on October 8, 1960. They had a life long love affair. Together they built their legacy which includes Steven James Neidhart (Julie), Nancy Caupp (Doug), Paul Neidhart (Amy), and Wendy Hecht (Steve). Grandchildren, Jessica Neidhart-Denson (Jarrod), Sarah Neidhart Caupp Graf (Nick), Alex Caupp, Stephanie Neidhart VanBuskirk (Nate), Hannah Hecht McIlwaine (Mark), James Caupp, Lauren Hecht, Maya Neidhart, Evan Hecht, and Ethan Neidhart. Great grandchildren, Julion Neidhart-Denson, Henry Graf, and Juniper James Neidhart-Denson.
Born in Marion, Ohio on October 18, 1938, Jim was the son of the late Harold Henry and Edna Huggins Neidhart and brother to the late Joan Neidhart Bruck.
Jim graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1956 and from Bowling Green State University in 1960. He was a professional buyer at Lazarus department stores in Columbus, Ohio for 16 years and completed his career at Elder Beerman in Dayton, Ohio for the next 25 years before retirement. Because of his love for cars, he worked for Jeff Schmitt auto group for 15 years.
Jim was a member of St. Andrew Methodist Church in Beavercreek, Ohio. He was an active and devoted member for over 30 years. He belonged to the Greene County Fish and Game Club and the Miami Valley Fly Fishers.
Jim was the most rare, gentle, and polite man that you could have the privilege to know. He was Golden.
Jim loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a boyish exuberance about his passions. Jim enjoyed fishing, sports cars, gardening, college football, music, traveling, antiquing, and being a prankster.
A Celebration of Life will be held privately at a later date. Jim will be laid to rest in the mausoleum at David's Cemetery.
