James Charles Haley, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, and WWII Veteran, Age 93, of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully at home on January 3, 2019 surrounded by family and the support of Brookdale Hospice.
He was born on August 5, 1925 to Charles and Hazelle (Clady) Haley in Defiance, OH.
Jim was devoted family man who tirelessly provided and supported his family. He loved nothing more than to have his home filled with children and grandchildren, and good food and laughter. He was an exceptional role-model to his children and grandchildren.
Jim was an Army Air Corps Veteran who served in WWII as a Navigator in the 20th Air Force. He was awarded the Air Medal, A-P Theatre Ribbon w/2 Bronze Battle Stars, 2 Overseas Service Bars, and other decorations. Jim worked as an Electrical Engineer for 43 years at Wright-Patterson AFB in the Avionics Lab. He held a patent for his invention of the Dynamic Analyzer "Haley's Comet," which was a high altitude flight simulator.
He was married to Mary Rose Haley (Koenn) for 70 years. Jim and Mary made Beavercreek, OH their home for 58 years.
In addition to his parents, Charles Owen and Hazelle, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Rose; two sons, John Paul and Robert John; sister, Florence (John) Bresnan; niece, Donna Bresnan; and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Haley.
Jim leaves behind his four sons, James (wife Carolina and grandchildren, Katrin (great grandson, Noah) and Kirsten); Michael (wife Katherine); David (wife Patricia); Patrick (wife Therese, grandchildren James (Darothy), Rachel (husband Caleb), Todd, Ryan and Renee and 5 great grandchildren, Elias, Roman, Kimberly, Lucas and Madeline Rose); daughter Patricia (husband Charles, grandchildren Tyler and Gillian, Adele (husband Jeff); two great grandchildren Sasha and Samantha; and nephew, John (Deb) Bresnan.
Jim was a Catholic and attended St. Luke Catholic Church with his wife.
Memorials are suggested to the Brookdale Hospice.
