James R. Gilley, Jr., age 72 of Vandalia, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015. He was born September 9, 1942 in Martinsville, VA to the late James Sr. and Eva (Warren) Gilley.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Gilley; daughters, Megan Gilley, Suzanne (Rob) Smith and Elizabeth Cruea; grandchildren, Sienna Gilley, Madilyn Smith, Ashley Tabor and Abbie Cruea; sister, Peggy (Ed) Pruden and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Jim owned and ran his own business, Main Radiator in Dayton, for more than 25 years. He actively coached youth softball and soccer. Jim was an avid outdoorsman, spending lots of time at Indian Lake. He worked many hours putting together fundraisers for church, athletics and other organizations.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 8 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, OH 45424.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 272 Bainbridge St. Dayton, OH 45402 with Fr. Angelo Anthony presiding. Interment to follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery.
