James A. Ganka, age 77, of Harrison Township, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2021 with his beloved wife by his side. Jim was born on January 27, 1944 to the late Frank and Dessie Ganka in Augusta, Georgia.
His family moved to Dayton when he was seven, and Jim attended Fairview High School, graduating in the Class of 1963. He played baseball in his younger years and loved bowling. When he wasn't spending time with his family, he could be found riding motorcycles or on his boat at Cumberland Lake.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Adams; his son, Scott Ganka; and his grandson, Justin Ganka.
Jim's memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 59 years, Pam Ganka; children, Mike (Bev) Ganka; daughter-in-law, Lisa Ganka; grandchildren, Jacob (Holly) Adams, Shelby (Jeff) Nance, Zach Ganka, and Josh Ganka; great-grandchildren, Addy Nance, Waylon Adams and Karlee Adams; and many other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 12:30pm to 1:30pm on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where a funeral service will begin at 1:30pm, officiated by Pastor Libby and Pastor Patrick. Burial will follow at Poplar Hills Cemetery.
