James Thomas "Tom" Farmer, Sr., 91, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at Trinity of Beavercreek. Tom was a World War II veteran and had worked for NCR for 27 years before opening Jim's Guns in Beavercreek with his son, Tommy.
Tom is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Shirley (Strausbaugh) and his son, James Thomas, Jr. "Tommy". He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Stegall of Dayton, his 2 grandchildren; Shannon Stegall of Farmingdale, NY and Cameron (Angela) Stegall of Dayton and his 4 great-grandchildren of Dayton. He also survived by his sister Roma (Ralph) Phillips, sisters-in-law Roberta (George) Blake, Carolyn (Carol) McGlasson, Thelma Strausbaugh and brother-in-law Bob Bremer. Tom leaves a host of beloved family (both by blood & of our hearts) and friends, with special "family" Ed McKenney and Sandy & David Pappenfus.
The family wants to give special thanks to Dr. Jodi Sperber and the staff of Trinity Nursing Home of Beavercreek for their loving devotion to Tom and his family. There are not enough words to express the appreciation they deserve.
Visitation will be held on Father's Day, Sunday June 18th at Newcomer Funeral Home at 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432 beginning at 1pm until 2 pm. There will be a service immediately following this visitation and a small graveside service. Burial will be in the Bellbrook Cemetery.
