James E. West

West, James Ernest, age 73, of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the Dayton VA Hospital. Jim attended William & Mary College and retired from NCR with 34 years of service. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran and a member of American Legion Post #675. Jim is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Melinda (Kirk) Christian of Columbus; grandchildren: Allen, Eric, & Matt Christian, Sophie West; brother: David West of Oregon; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ernest & Louise West and his son: Dr. Robert A. West. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Dayton National Cemetery with Pastor Andrew Brewster officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
