James E. Towery
Age 80, of Dayton, passed away Friday, July 28, 2006. James was born July 7, 1926 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky to Lloyd C. & Lena (Hoskins) Towery.
He is survived by his wife of the past 54 years, Ollie Wade (Gatliff) Towery; two sons, Jerry Towery of Venice, Florida & Jeff (& wife, Sherri) Towery of Clifton Park, New York; one granddaughter, Haylee Rose Towery of Clifton Park, New York; one brother, Lloyd Jr. (& wife, Bea) Towery; two sisters, Loraine (& husband, Robert) Hall and Wanda (& husband, Lee) Englebart.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna T. Riddle & Bessie Lee Burdette; and by one brother, Raymond Towery.
James was a member of Airway Baptist Church, a U. S. Army veteran having served in both WW II and Korea. He retired from General Motors in 1988 with 43 years of service and was a member of the 25-year club.
The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Monday at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, with funeral service to be held at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Joshua King will officiate. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
