Graham, James Donald "Don" "Uncle Don", was born on December 27, 1927 in Virginia and went home to the Lord on September 4, 2012.
Don was a United States Army Veteran proudly serving during the Korean War where he received a Purple Heart, Distinguished Unit Citation and a Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars. After serving his country, he settled in Moraine, Ohio. Don retired from Dayton Tire and Rubber and from Dacraft Manufacturing as a shop foreman.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother: Lena Graham; best friends: Charlie Wax and Roy Parks and many beloved family members. Don is survived by the Delph family: Sue (Ernie), Loran (Georgianna), Larry (Julie), Garry (Jeannie), Donnie (Barb), Denver (Felicia), Gloria Jean (Harvey), Claretta, Jimmy (Barb), Carolyn (Brian), Jeff, Darrell and their extended families; The Parks family; Randall (Anita), Kenneth (Jane), Jerry (Debbie), Shirley (Neil) and their extended families; the Wax family: Bill (Ruth), Patricia, Roger (Diane), Ed, Debbie, and their extended families. Don is also survived by his loyal dog: Brillo. Known affectionately to many as "Uncle Don", he will be deeply missed by friends and family too numerous to list. He was a faithful member of Riverview Baptist Church, a man of great integrity, and he loved his Lord and Savior.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home – South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering with Pastor Bill Anderkin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:00 A.M. until time of services. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday at Lee Memorial Gardens in Pennington Gap, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Montgomery County Humane Society in honor of Don.
