James Deaton

James G. Deaton, age 69 of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2010. He was born September 22, 1941 in Baltimore, MD to the late Clarence Deaton and Eva Harville. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Deaton; and grandson, Elijah Emrick.

Jim is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary Deaton; children: Amanda Milburn (Shane), Bobbi Dickey, Deborah Emrick, Kevin Goodrich, James Deaton (Marcy) and Deborah Deaton; 10 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; 2 brothers: Tommy Harville (Judy) and Kenneth Harville (Theresa); several nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, where the family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service, 5-7 pm. The family would like to thank the staff at The Oaks of Kettering and Evercare Hospice for their special care to Jim during his final days.
