James Leroy Cummings

James Leroy Cummings, age 71 of Harrison Township, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2017. He was born in Dayton to the late Oscar and Gertrude Cummings. James retired from General Motor after many years of service. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing bingo and slot machines. James married the love of his life, Rebecca, on December 27, 1977. The two were married until Rebecca's passing in 2014. James was a caring and kind father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Cummings; daughters, Diana Cummings and Rosalee Miles; and siblings, Don, Chuck, Rich, Margaret, and Jenny.

James leaves to cherish his memory; children, Joseph Edgar Miles; Tina Marie Anderson; James L. "Junior" (Roberta) Cummings, Jr., Tina Michelle Cummings; Dave (Amy) Cummings; brother, Paul (Pauline) Cummings; sister-in-law, Joyce Cummings; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 1:30pm. The family will greet friends and loved ones for two hours prior (11:30am - 1:30pm). Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
