James E. Craft, 77, of Xenia, died suddenly on February 6, 2023, while doing what he loved. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, to Martha and Howard and he was a graduate of Chaminade.
Jim served in the Air Force for 4 years, became a wood pattern maker and married his beloved wife of 53 years, Linda. From his childhood days to his last second on earth, he loved anything with an engine. His passion for classic cars and especially classic Mustangs kept him busy working on and restoring them. Anyone who had their car restored by him knew they were getting his gift of perfectionism.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Muth, his Pappy, Richard Muth and brothers Bob and Jack.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his daughters, Barbra (Billy) and Sandy; his grandchildren, Dillon, Samantha, Colton, Brittany, Danielle and Tyler: his siblings, Bill, Tom (Pat), Mary, Chuck (Tom), Betty and Mike (Ann); and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
All who stopped by to chat or just have a beer with him knew he was a very thankful and genuine man. Craft's Classic Mustangs barn door shuts, but his legacy shall live on.
A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm, on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek.
