James Baxter Cornett, 66, of Dayton Ohio, passed away early morning Saturday, July 16th, 2022 at home.
James was born November 24th, 1955 in Morehead, Kentucky to the late John Cornett and (mother unknown). He was raised by his Father and Step Mother Louise Cornett. James was a Veteran of the United States Naval Service. He worked as a Mason, spending most of his life in Dayton Ohio. James was an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed hunting trips with his sons James "Bubby", Jesse, and Justin and spending time with family. James was a kind, loving father, brother, uncle and son. He would give anything he had to those who needed it.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Tracy Cornett, father, John Cornett, stepmother, Louis Cornett, sisters, Darleen and Sharleen Cornett, brother, Paul Cornett, aunts/uncles Betty Moore, Clayton and Rufus Cornett, Elsie, Cecil and Beulah, Elmer and Edith Burdette.
He is survived by his children, Tasha Cornett, Sabrina "Nicole" Houdeshell (Jacob), James "Bubby" Cornett (Tanna), Jesse Lee, Breanna Thompson, and Justin Cornett; special niece, Jamie Cornett (Leonard); grandchildren, Daniele Dixon, Jarrod Mason, Charity Houdeshell, Cameron Vazquez, Adrianna Vazquez, Devon Mason, Peyton Mason, Bailee Thompson, Jasilynne Lee, Jesse Lee, and Paisley Houdeshell; nephews/niece, Danny Nolan, Mark Cornett, and DJ Cornett; ex-wives, Danna Johnson and Cynthia Johnson; great-nephews, Brandon, Leonard, Austin and Weylin Johnson.
A visitation will be held from 3:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where the funeral service will begin at 4:00pm.
