James Cordray

Cordray, James C., age 87 of West Carrollton, passed away on Tuesday January 3, 2012. He was born in Ruddles Mills, KY on January 21, 1924 to the late Gano and Willie Cordray. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his brother, C.G. Cordray and two sisters, Mildred Hughes and Jean Brown.

Jim is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruth Evelyn Cordray; 5 children, Linda Gauthier, Bruce (Jan) Cordray, Ed (Beth) Cordray, Mark (Mary) Cordray and Robin (Carl) Galloway; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and other family members and good friends.

Jim honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy in WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held on Friday January 6, 2012 at 1:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd., where the family will receive friends for one hour prior from 12:30-1:30 pm. Burial to follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Pastor Gary Favor and Associate Pastor Nick Cordray to officiate services. Donations may be made in Jim's honor to Faith Baptist Church.
