James D. Cooper DDS, age 88, passed away at Bethany Village in Centerville on Tuesday, November 22, 2016.
Born in Dayton Ohio on April 8, 1928.
Preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Cooper Sr.; his mother, Cecilia M. (Hemleben); Rev Paul W. Cooper and sister-in-law, Caroline Cooper.
James is survived by his brothers, Robert E. Cooper Jr. (Maxine) and Michael H. Cooper; nephews, Michael A. Cooper, Paul A. Cooper, and niece, Mary Ellen Couture.
James is a graduate of Chaminade class of 1946, a BS from the University of Dayton in 1951 and graduated from the School of Dentistry from Ohio State in 1955. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a Captain in the United States Army Dental Corps. After a tour of duty in Korea, James set up practice in Fairborn, Ohio until 1988 when he retired. He was an avid golfer and camper. He loved fishing with his buddies, bowling and card playing.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 11am-12pm at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave, Kettering, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
