James Arnold Conkel

James Arnold "Jim" Conkel, 58, of Dayton, passed away on April 28, 2019.
He was born September 12, 1960 to Paul and Anna Margaret (Buckner) Conkel in Dayton, OH.
On July 21, 1989, he married Jill at Patterson Park Church and Jim served his community as a Dayton Fire Fighter/Paramedic for 25 years. He loved the Lord and considered everyone he met to be family.
He attended Patterson Park Church for 30 years alongside his family, where he sang in the choir, mentored youth, and served on several trips to Trinidad and Tobago.
He loved pitching on the DFD softball team, reading, fishing in the early hours, hiking and camping with his family.
Jim was known to cook for a crowd, and welcome anyone to the table.
Jim is survived by his mother, Margaret; Jill; children, Eric (Bethany) Grace (Matthew), Sam (Hannah), and Martha; Grandchildren Hazel, Rhea, Peter, Aliza, Violet, Margo, and Boaz; sisters Susan, Pauletta, and Denise, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Paul and grandchildren Amalya, Lucas, Poppy and Daisy.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 4, 2019, 10 am at Patterson Park Church in Beavercreek. Memorial services will follow at 11am.
