James Conerty

February 18, 1947 — April 28, 2020

James Robert Conerty, age 73 of Ft. Lauderdale and locally of West Carrollton, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at his home. He was born February 18, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of the late James and Mary "Wil" Conerty.

James is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carlyn L. Conerty; children, James R. (Sheri) Conerty III, Jason D. Conerty and Michelle K. (Dan) Apolito; grandchildren, Brianna (Jay), JR, Emma, Matthew, Ava, Giovanni, Aiden, Morgan, Ally and Neko; sister, Cathy (Dave) Holloway; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends across the country.

Jim was a 1965 graduate of Elder High School, Cincinnati where he excelled as an athlete in track. After graduation, he attended Thomas More University in KY where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in business administration. Later Jim obtained his Master's Degree from Central Michigan University. He was also a 23 year military reservist for the Army and National Guard and actively served during Desert Storm, retiring as a 1st Sergeant. Jim was a dedicated employee of Sears & Roebuck for 40 years before retiring as a project manager heading numerous remodels for the company over the years. He was a member of the NRA, USGA and the 112th Medical Brigade. Jim enjoyed fishing, shooting, golfing, music and spending time with his grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a very out-going and social man with a loving spirit. Jim's heart knew no bounds and his family included friends of his children and grandchildren who considered him a father and grandfather as well.

Family will host a ceremony in memory of Jim at a later date.
