James Wayne Collinsworth
April 3, 1939 — September 28, 2019
Collinsworth, James Wayne age 80, of Xenia, Ohio passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019. He was born in Blue Diamond, Kentucky on April 3, 1939 to the late Hager and Nancy Collinsworth (nee Combs).
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Everett Clinton Shepherd, Jerry David, Freddie, and John Collinsworth. James is survived by his life partner, Phyllis Stropkaj; brothers, Kermit (Fran) Collinsworth, Michael (Carol) Collinsworth, and Ervin (Janice) Collinsworth; and a host of other family members and friends.
James loved working on cars and building his own helicopter at home. "Gyro-Jim" was what everyone called him.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of James to American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Dayton, OH 45432. Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm.
