James C. Madewell
Age 67, of Huber Heights, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Miami Valley Hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born April 9, 1943 in Wilder, TN, the son of the late Tobe and Stella Madewell.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Loraine Madewell; two sons, James C. Madewell, Jr (fiancé, Teresa) and Jeffrey C. Madewell; two grandchildren, Christopher Madewell and Alexis Madewell; two great grandchildren, Jeordin and Morgyn Rose; siblings, Charlene (Calvin) Brown, Theda (Buster) Burchett, Betty Duncan, Bobbie (Mary Jo) Madewell, Billy (Margie) Madewell; Brothers and Sisters-in-law; Tim (Phyllis) Hamilton, Charles (Jenny) Hamilton, Diana Hamilton and Patricia (Jon) Mowery and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by siblings, Francola Williams, Louise Madewell, Evelyn Winnett, Pauline Gudgell, Toby Madewell and Tommy Madewell; Mother-in-law, Justine Hamilton-Murphy; Sister-in-law, Cheryl Miller.
He retired from Chrysler after 30 years of service and he served in the U. S. Navy with an honorable discharge. He was a member of Northridge Freewill Baptist Church and the VFW Post # 2800. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golfing, bowling and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Northridge Freewill Baptist Church, 4800 Payne Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45414. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Northridge Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Nickels & Rev. Josh Branscomb officiating. Burial to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia, Ohio.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Dr. Edward Martin and the ICU staff at OSU James Cancer Center, Columbus, Ohio, the Crisis Care Team at Miami Valley Hospital and to the many friends and relatives who supported the family during this most difficult time.
