James H. Butler, Jr.

James H. Butler, Jr., age 57 of Kettering, passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2023. He was born October 19, 1965 in Boston, MA to James H. and Dawna (McDonald) Butler, Sr.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashley (Matt Emrick) Butler; parents, James and Dawna; siblings, Leo (Cindy) Butler, John (Teresa) Butler and Jacqui (Jeff) Smith; nieces and nephews, Ian Butler, Megan (Shelby) Gwozdz, Sean Butler, Elizabeth (Matt) McDonald, Patrick Butler, Connor Smith, Kelsey Smith, Carly Smith and Kayla Smith; his beloved grandpuppies, Mona Lisa and Walter Cronkite along with numerous extended family and dear friends.
James had many enjoyable hobbies including reading, dancing and watching old westerns. He liked to listen to Abba and you could count on him getting pizza at midnight. James loved to smoke meat and have barbecues. Most of all he loved spending time with his family..
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00am on February 16th at Church of the Incarnation located at 7415 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, OH 45459. Family will receive guests from 10 AM until the time of service. A reception will follow the Mass at John and Teresa Butler's house.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St.Vincent dePaul Confrence at Incarnation, in James' memory.
