James Blatz, Sr.

Blatz, James R. (Sr.), age 86, of Dayton, passed away on September 1, 2007 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born September 9, 1920 in Dayton, the son of Henry Charles & Mary Margaret (Schaub) Blatz. He was formerly employed by Delco Moraine, NCR, and he retired from Beavercreek City Schools. He served in the US Army in WWII and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Corene Blatz; 8 brothers; and 2 sisters. Survivors include his son, James R. (Linda) Blatz, Jr. of MI; granddaughter & caregiver, Julie Parr of Dayton; grandsons, Gregory (Sherri) Blatz of Dayton, Timothy Blatz and fiancee Abby of Englewood; and numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12 PM until the time of services.
