James Earl Blair Sr., age 77 of Miamisburg, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born September 24, 1946 in East Point, KY, the son of the late Archie and Darleen Blair.
James served his country in the United States Army as a tank commander. He went on to become an over-the-road truck driver and retired in 2011 after 40+ years of racing up and down the roads. James will be remembered for his love of westerns and horses, and for always wearing his cowboy hat, cowboy boots, and leather vest - with no coat! His veins didn't have blood - they had Coca Cola running through them - if you know, you know!
James is survived by his children, Shonda (Rick) Napier and James (Angelia) Blair Jr.; grandchildren, Abigail and Garrett Napier; sister, Karen Clark; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, including his granddog, Oakley, and grandcat, Gus.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis (Harold) Butcher; and brothers, Donnie Blair and John Walter (Norma) Blair.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45459). Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm officiated by Frank Taylor, affiliated with Gideon's International. Burial will follow in Heritage Hills Memory Gardens.
